Over the last week many thoughts have come to me as I watch so many people that I love struggle in sin, even as I struggle in sin and I have come to realize that changing isn’t just a choice but a must in order to be examples of our Lord Jesus.
If we don’t change how can we ask others who live in sin everyday to change?
‘and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of god’ Romans 12:2-3
So everyday I have committed to getting rid of everything in my house, in my life that is not of God; everything I once loved and apart of my identity will be stripped away because I know that there is something even better waiting for me in Christ.
But as everyday something gets thrown out and I cry as a little more of the old me gets thrown away with it I know that changing on the outside isn’t enough if everything I throw out I still desire. I need to change on the inside as well. My heart needs to change and desire God and His heart not this world.
You are an amazing woman, whose love for God shines through in all you do. As you give the things of your past over to God, and the desires for them, He will allow your heart to change.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10
It is God who will wash your heart and cleanse it from all unrighteousness as you remove those things from your life.
“…Because they do not change, Therefore they do not fear God.” Psalm 55:19
Your willingness to pursue righteousness is a testimony of your growth in Christ and your love for Him.
“My heart needs to change and desire God and His heart not this world.” …clearly you already do.
