Last night while I was working I was suddenly uncomfortable with a customer and instantly I was convicted of my feelings by the Holy Spirit.

I suddenly seen that customer as my enemy and suddenly everything changed before my very eyes as I remembered the Lord Jesus as he said,

‘love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.’ matthew 5:44

and I suddenly realized that the Lord loved every person in their sin as he loved me in my sin. I am no better than my enemy is. Our enemies are not only the people around us, in our homes, workplaces, churches or community, they are all over the world.

We don’t get to choose who our enemies are and who is not, who is worth praying for and who is not, who is worth dying for and who is not.

Our Lord Jesus died on the cross for that sinner, our enemy; he died for the Muslim who flies planes into buildings killing thousands to the Nazi who kills millions of Jews to the liar, the cheater, the murderer, the very people who stand for evil (in our eyes but what is evil, what is sin?)

He died for the Politicians who we complain about, to the very bosses we work for who treat us with very little integrity as they work our husbands into the ground so they make more money.

He died for everyone and he doesn’t place us in Classes, Races, Countries, Families, Christians, Sins, Rich or Poor. He loves us all!!!!

‘for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.’                                                                                              Matthew 5:45

Praise to our Good, Merciful, and Forgiving God, I love Him more and more each day!

‘I will not. You can do as you please with me, but I will not deny the Lord.’

-FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD CHANG ANG, refusing to recant, immediately before being killed by the sword in Taiyuan

‘I don’t fear if God wants me to suffer the death of a martyr.’

-MINA HEDLUND, in her last letter before being murdered by the Boxers in Soping

‘I cannot but believe in Christ: even if you put me to death, I will still believe and follow Him’

-A CHINESE MAN WHO DENIED CHRIST but later told a boxer magistrate that he repented, and was beaten to death(Rioters cut open his body and extracted his heart, exhibiting it in the magistrate’s office).

I got these  incredible people’s words from a book I just finished reading called “CHINA- RESTRICTED NATIONS” by The Voice Of The Martyrs and it really opened my eyes to what has happened in China over the last five hundred years and to read that these Christians have suffered for so long and still are to this very day is heartbreaking. They are true inspirations that we should all be proud to call our family who have sacrificed so much and for so long.

Over the last week many thoughts have come to me as I watch so many people that I love struggle in sin, even as I struggle in sin and I have come to realize that changing isn’t just a choice but a must in order to be examples of our Lord Jesus.

If we don’t change how can we ask others who live in sin everyday to change?

‘and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of god’    Romans 12:2-3

So everyday I have committed to getting rid of everything in my house, in my life that is not of God; everything I once loved and apart of my identity will be stripped away because I know that there is something  even better waiting for me in Christ.

But as everyday something gets thrown out and I cry as a little more of the old me gets thrown away with it I know that changing on the outside isn’t enough if everything I throw out I still desire. I need to change on the inside as well. My heart needs to change and desire God and His heart not this world.
